Hello, I’m Pam! Welcome to the palatesjourney.

I am passionate about many things, cooking and travel are just two of them. I believe the world becomes a smaller, friendlier place when we take the time to learn about each other and our unique customs and cuisine. While travel isn’t something we can currently enjoy, I’m hoping to try to learn about different cuisines and customs and share them here.

I come from a long line of not-so-good cooks. My mother’s speciality was ham casserole (a combination of ground leftover ham, instant mashed potatoes, and a delectable ketchup topping), a dish that looks and tastes as unappealing as it sounds. My grandmother’s idea of a high quality Italian dinner was Ragu brand tomato sauce with Oscar Meyer hot dogs posing as sausages floating around, ultimately poured over a plate of ziti. As you can clearly see, I feel it is my moral obligation to lift the family curse.

I believe if you you put heart into it, it shows. My goal is to post new recipes, things I’m trying and yes, not only my successes, but also my failures.
